This dataset contains sunshaded images of depth, isopach and two way time grids generated from seismic interpretation to the following horizons: Top Sherbrook Group, top of the Eumeralla Formation, top of Crayfish Group and Basement or Base Mesozoic in the Otway Basin area in the south-east of South Australia.

The grids formed part of a database of seismically mapped subsurface depth, isopach and time grids, contours, faults and polygons interpreted from seismic mapping over the Otway Basin.

The sun-shaded seismic mapping images in this layer were created from Petrosys grids using ERMapper software. The image files (Georeferenced - TIFF format) are in GDA94 Geodetic projection. Depths are in metres below MSL datum.

These data were derived from well tops, seismic sections and some open file industry interpretations. Petrosys mapping and interpretation software were utilised for the entire project.

Sherbrook horizon TWTs were derived from open file industry TWT contour interpretations and seismic correlations. The resulting TWT contour grid was convolved with a TWT depth relationship derived from well tops, with logical constraints outside data zones, to create the depth grid.

Eumeralla, Crayfish and Basement TWT horizons were derived from correlated and contoured seismic TWTs. The resulting TWT contour grids were convolved with TWT depth relationships derived from well tops, with logical constraints outside data zones, to create the depth grids.

Onshore Otway Basin produced by Bruce Finlayson 1993. Offshore Otway Basin and tie to onshore produced by Brent Jensen-Schmidt, 1995. Both were consulting geophysicists for the Energy Resources Division, DMITRE.

Update to data by David Rowe and Witold Severyn 1997-99.

Final compilation by Brent Jensen-Schmidt 2001.

Positional accuracy:This is dependant on the grid mesh size, in these cases 200*200 metres.
Attribute accuracy:Within 2 metres of interpreted well tops
      Logical consistency:Highly consistent
      Completeness:Complete
