The Geological Survey of South Australia has partnered with MinEx CRC to undertake a National Drilling Initiative project in the northern Gawler Craton. This project includes a geoscientific drilling program and allied research to understand the geology and mineral potential of both the Gawler Craton basement and overlying Arckaringa and Eromanga basins. The National Drilling Initiative looks to drill multiple holes around Australia to map the regional geology and architecture and define the potential for mineral systems in 3D.
