The purpose of this data package is to provide end-users with the GIS datasets used for the 2009 modelling of mineral potential in the Northern Flinders Ranges. The package contains subsets of SA 1:100 000 scale surface geology (polygons) and structural controls, buffered and merged (where appropriate), pertaining to areas within this region that are deemed to be prospective for a range of commodities. The package also contains current (at December 2011) versions of the following regional (Northern Flinders Ranges) GIS layers: Mineral deposits; 1:100 000 scale surface geology; 1:100 000 scale linear structures; sample geochemistry. Please refer to the accompanying pdf file, of report book RB 2009/00019 which is entitled “Assessment of mineral prospectivity of the northern Flinders Ranges using GIS analysis”, for a complete description of the mineral potential modelling process and the derived prospectivity maps.
