Source Data History: Areas are reserved from the Mining Act and Opal Act by proclamation in the South Australian Government Gazette. Boundaries were captured by matching precisely to the Digital Cadastral Database wherever possible. Non-cadastral boundaries were constructed from bearing and distance data or by reference to topographical features where necessary. Associated attribute data is captured from Government Gazette notices and the digital cadastre. Processing Steps: The majority of areas reserved are based on cadastral parcels. Linework cleaned to remove duplicate arcs. Data adjusted for accurate state border and coastline. Associated attribute data also captured from gazettal notices. Positional accuracy:The accuracy of boundaries is dependent upon the source, ie. the digital cadastre. Attribute accuracy:Attribute data sourced from proclamations is compared with corresponding parcel identifiers within the digital cadastre. This form of validation ensures that all land parcels reserved from the operation of the Mining Act and Opal Act are correct in the spatial dataset. Logical consistency:The dataset contains no overshoots, undershoots or duplicate lines. All polygons representing licences contain only one label. Completeness:Spatial data is 100% complete. Associated attribute data is 100% complete. Government Gazette notices are checked on a weekly basis for proclamations in this category. |
