This is the revised hydrogeochemical data from the SA_Geodata groundwater database, courtesy of Lloyd Sampson of the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources, South Australia (SA). By combining data into one file, with consistent detection limits, correcting for analytical differences, and comparing with recent data, these data should now be readily usable and "seamlessly" comparable. This data release is part of the "Continental Scale Hydrogeochemistry" initiative.

Various drillholes; compiled by Geological Survey of South Australia.

Positional accuracy: Original data was located using various techniques. With the advent of GPS positional accuracies of 15m are routine. Survey boundaries are accurately located using geodetic coordinates (longitude, latitude).

Attribute accuracy: Attributes are sourced from the SA_Geodata groundwater database.

Logical consistency: The GIS package (ArcGIS) was used to detect errors in the spatial data structure. This check ensures that all survey polygons are closed and that each polygon is uniquely identified. A visual check of the survey metadata attributes is done prior to release.

Completeness: Most attributes are available for all the surveys included in this GIS dataset.
