CSIRO is developing Themes 1.3 & 1.4 of the UNCOVER Initiative: 1.3: Understand use of chemistry of groundwater in mineral exploration . 1.4: Analysis of Hydrogeochemical datasets to inform Minimum Appropriate Data spacing for hydrogeochemical baseline characterisation. Build a robust and accessible hydrogeochemical map of Australia.. Used to supply industry, government and the general public for mineral exploration. |

Positional accuracy: Original data was located using various techniques. With the advent of GPS positional accuracies of 15m are routine. Survey boundaries are accurately located using geodetic coordinates (longitude, latitude). Attribute accuracy: Attributes are sourced from the SA_Geodata groundwater database. Logical consistency: The GIS package (ArcGIS) was used to detect errors in the spatial data structure. This check ensures that all survey polygons are closed and that each polygon is uniquely identified. A visual check of the survey metadata attributes is done prior to release. Completeness: Most attributes are available for all the surveys included in this GIS dataset. |
