The exploration and management of mineral resources heavily rely on the availability of geoscientific data. However, the spatial distribution of these data can vary significantly across South Australia, creating challenges for comprehensive geological analysis. Inspired by the Brazilian Geoscientific Knowledge Index (GKI) maps, this project aimed to develop a Data Density Index Map for South Australia. By visualising the distribution of critical geoscientific data, the map serves as a tool for identifying areas with high data concentrations, as well as regions that may benefit from additional data acquisition or exploration activities, ultimately facilitating decision-making and resource information management.
