The Resources and Energy Sector Infrastructure Council (RESIC) was established in 2007 by the South Australian Government to identify, source, value-add and deliver online integrated infrastructure information that meets the future requirements of the resource and energy sectors. In 2011 DMITRE launched the infrastructure channel in SARIG which consisted of 17 key datasets to assist potential investors and bring new projects to the state. This dataset contains locations of water reticulation network pipes owned or managed by SA Water Corporation, part of SA Water's Water Reticulation Assest Regisiter. Does not show pipes less than 200mm diameter within the greater Adelaide metropolitan area. Reticulation data was captured by hand digitising hardcopy reticulation map sheets placed on digitising tablets. Digital cadastral boundary data (DCDB) was supplied in digital format from South Australia's government mapping agency. Control was established between the digital cadastre and the plotted cadastre on the hardcopy plans. In built-up areas (including the Adelaide Metropolitan and all country towns), data was digitised from AMG 1:2,500 water reticulation plans. In rural areas, data was accurately plotted onto 1:10,000 AMG plots and then digitised. Data was captured between 1985 and 1992, after which the database has been continually updated using a combination of tablet and heads-up digitising techniques. Capture Method: Digitised using digitising tablets, Digital Cadastre (DCDB) was used as control. Newer data digitised on screen. Positional accuracy:Data entered pre 1992 in built-up areas 1:2,500 and rural areas 1:10,000. Data captured after 1992 at various scales using electronic methods. Attribute accuracy:Dependant on accuracy of source data |
