The Wallaroo and Moonta Copper Mining District is situated in the hundred of Wallaroo, county of Daly, on the eastern shore of Spencer's Gulf. The potential metalliferous area, however, extends into the hundreds of Kadina and Tiparra, to the E. and S. of the hundred of Wallaroo. The, towns directly interested in the mining industry are Kadina, at Wallaroo Mines, and Moonta, at Moonta Mines. Wallaroo, the principal shipping port of the district, and the third in the State, five and three quarter miles W. of Kadina and eleven and a quarter miles N. of Moonta, is the smelting centre for the district,.
