The region to the north and north-west of Tarcoola has been bored extensively, under the to develop waters as a base for the extension of pastoral occupation, and the majority of the bore samples have been examined by officers of the Geological Survey. Traverses had been made by the late Mr. H. Y. L. Brown, Government Geologist, through portions of the area, but in view of the desire to discover new mineral country, the writer was instructed by the Hon. the Minister of Mines to accompany Mr. Goode and obtain more detailed information as to the geology of the region.
