A programme of bedrock diamond drilling has been completed by the SA Department of Mines at the locations of the proposed storage dam abutments and foundation at Lower Dam Site no. 2 on the Myponga River. The logs of the drill cores are presented, and the geology reviewed in the light of information revealed by the boring. The physical condition of the bedrock as seen in the cores is discussed. Samples of typical cored rock material are presently being tested for their shear properties at the laboratories of the Engineering and Water Supply Department.
