The recent necessary destruction of the Kensington Gardens Isogal Station (national station number 6091.0108) initiated this review of all isogal stations within the Adelaide Metropolitan Area. Of the fifteen isogal stations on record within the metropolitan area, only one is still operational: Norton Summit (6091.0208). All other former stations have now been destroyed. In the short term outlook, the re-establishment of a reliable gravity meter calibration range, in close proximity to Adelaide, is urgently required by PIRSA. Therefore a new isogal station has been established at Kensington Park, a short distance from where the most recently destroyed station was situated. This new location is also near the Norton Summit Isogal Station, since it is within twenty minutes' vehicle travelling time on a sealed road, and so will provide a suitable calibration range. Establishment of additional isogal stations is required in the near future.
