This geotechnical workshop of seminars and core displays, which was held over two days on 5-6 December 2002, aimed to highlight recent collaborative research between PIRSA [MER], Geoscience Australia and the South Australian mineral industry that has led to new regional concepts and data for targeting ore systems in the Gawler Craton. The subject report presents the background geological framework, chosen interpretative comment and metadata for all the drill cores put on display, although some of this core material (e.g. that from Prominent Hill, Olympic Dam, Challenger, Tunkillia and Nuckulla Hill) is still being physically kept in the custody of the companies that currently maintain related tenure to particular ground.
