Beneath a cover of shell sand and reworked Gambier Limestone Beachport No.1 Well intersected a sequence of Lower Tertiary and cretaceous rocks. The Tertiary sediments of Oligocene age consisted of Gambier Limestone 760-820 feet, equivalents of the upper part of the Bucoleuch Group (Upper Eocene) to 880 feet. 1000 feet of Knight Group grits and mudstones were intersected between 880 and 1880 feet. Between 1880 and 1960 feet a sandstone of possible Upper Cretaceous age was intersected before the well entered the Runnymede Formation (Cenomanian-Albian) at 1960 feet. Drilling ceased in this formation.
