In a search for metallurgical dolomite with a specified grade of 45% CaCO3, and 45% MgCO3, an angled diamond drill hole was sunk in examination. The hole was continued into the underlying Cambrian and Proterozoic sediments to test for base metal mineralisation at the base of the dolomite. Initial grade of dolomite appears satisfactory, but structural problems affecting tonnage were made apparent and can only be solved by further drilling. Slightly anomalous base metal values were obtained from nine feet of clay at the base of the dolomite.
