This report reviews the available information on the region, and presents a preliminary appraisal of the data supplied by South-western Mining Co. Ltd. Current field and laboratory information has also been included. New geological and geochemical data is presented which confirms the lateritic origin of the enriched nickel deposits. Results of a recent gravity survey of the Claude Hills area, and of a regional aeromagnetic survey, are discussed. Recommendations are made for further exploration of the area.
