This report presents the results from multi-isotopic apatite and zircon SHRIMP U–Pb geochronology on thirteen samples from the central-western Gawler Craton. Eleven drill core samples are interpreted ultramafic to mafic intrusive rocks, with most containing a hydrous mineralogical overprint dominated by amphibole. The sample set also comprises an orthopyroxene-bearing granite (charnockite) from drill core and a granoblastic anorthosite outcrop sample interpreted to be part of the Muckanippie Suite. Twelve samples in this study are from the Archaean to earliest Palaeoproterozoic Mulgathing Complex, situated in the central-western Gawler Craton. This study also attempts to address the technical problem of performing robust geochronology on mafic intrusive rocks. All thirteen samples in this study have been dated using the U–Pb, Sm–Nd, and Lu–Hf isotopic systems in apatite, with eight of these samples also dated using zircon SHRIMP U–Pb geochronology. Apatite Sm–Nd compositions have also been acquired for each sample in an attempt to monitor the isotopic character of metasomatic alteration. Two samples were recovered from the Wilgena and Harris Greenstone domains in the central Gawler Craton. At the boundary between the Wilgena and Harris Greenstone domains near the Finke Shear Zone, a plagioclase-biotite amphibolite from drillhole BGDDH 4 records a zircon U–Pb magmatic age of c. 2471 Ma. The remaining samples come from Zinna Tank, the Blackfellow-Skuse Hill region, the Acacia East and Aristarchus prospects, and the Challenger deposit – all located within the Christie Domain in the central-western Gawler Craton.
