This report book contains SHRIMP zircon U-Pb geochronological data obtained in May 2010 from the Curnamona Province, for three igneous rock samples derived from the Benagerie Ridge region and one metasedimentary rock sample taken from the Mingary region. This particular geochronological study was undertaken as part of the National Geoscience Agreement (NGA), as a collaborative research programme between the Commonwealth's Division of Minerals and Energy, Primary Industry and Resources South Australia (PIRSA) and Geoscience Australia (GA). The aim of the NGA geochronology programme is to provide geochronological constraints on geodynamic and tectonic models for provinces of South Australia, to provide an improved geological and metallogenic framework for these provinces. The subject document is a technical report describing samples analysed and the analytical results obtained for the Curnamona Province in Year 5 of the research collaboration, and provides a brief discussion of their geochronological interpretation. The complete data files, including data for standards, will be stored in the GA database, OZCHRON. A tabulated summary of the U-Pb zircon ages obtained in this study is presented herein, with supporting information about the sample processing, geochronological data reduction and data presentation. Also included is background information about the field geological relationships of the rock samples studied, explaining the rationale for selection of the samples, plus their petrological descriptions and petrogenetic interpretations.
