At the request of architect Giles Walkley, a domestic residence located at 2 Belmore Terrace, Woodville, South Australia was examined for the purpose of determining what stone the house was constructed from, and if possible, the location of the quarry from where the stone originated. To that end the house was inspected on 28 February 2014. The date of construction of the dwelling was advised to be 1907. It was deduced that the Adelaidean meta-sandstone that comprises the superstructure of the residence was most likely sourced from any of several now abandoned quarries located in the Mount Lofty district, and because of relative convenience for rail transport to Adelaide, may have come from a then active quarry called Swan's situated on Section 402, Hundred of Noarlunga, that lies close to the Mount Lofty Railway Station.
