Prospecting of the lease areas has been restricted to surface examination of the locations of previously noted geophysical (magnetic, electrical resistivity) and geochemical (soil sampling) anomalies. One of four old caved-in prospecting shafts found to the east of Elder's main lode, which form an alignment having a similar strike and spacing to the nearby mine lode disposition, was cleaned out and inspected down to the flooded water level, but no signs of mineralisation were seen. However, evidence of secondary copper mineralisation was found near Kadina at one of several old, shallow and now filled workings discovered in wheat fields 1.3 miles to the north of the Wallaroo main lode, and the prospectivity of this locality is enhanced by a coincident soil geochemical anomaly and magnetic lineament. It is recommended that a 750 feet deep exploratory diamond drillhole be put down to test the unweathered Precambrian basement of this prospect for primary copper mineralisation.
