As follow-up to conducting aerial and ground magnetic survey traverses and photogeological studies of a complex highly magnetic area near Lake Tallacootra, on the eastern margin of the Nullarbor Plain, aircore drilling of 23 vertical holes (total 804 m, including 35 m cored) to bedrock was undertaken, which penetrated only un-mineralised gneisses, amphibolite and banded iron formation. The area is now considered by Afmeco to hold no potential for uranium discovery.
