No new work - background research findings given only. Reporting consists of an account of poorly constrained past exploratory diamond drilling information [data source reference and hole location not given], describing a single inclined diamond drillhole of 357 m total length which was completed in the vicinity of Clare (perhaps just a little distance to the ?west of the township) at some time in 1970 or 1971 by an un-named "prospecting syndicate", to target at depth a possible gold-bearing gossanous horizon. The trajectory of the hole veered shallowly and very greatly off its original direction, and therefore the target was completely missed. However, it is claimed by the licensee from the information received that gold mineralisation was intersected throughout the cored hole interval to TD, with gold fire assay values obtained from six selected drill core samples ranging from 0.01 ppm Au to 3.3 ppm Au. This mineralisation is associated with pyritic and limonitic gossanous, sheared and highly weathered Adelaidean sandstone/siltstone country rocks that are in part quartz veined and which occupy the steeply dipping flank of a large regional syncline.
