Relinquishment of parts of the licenses held in the Lock, Tuckey and Tooligie area was made following drilling (31 holes totalling 2 960 metres) to investigate lignite occurrence in the Polda Basin. Possible reserves of Jurassic and Eocene coals in the southern Polda Basin area, were put at 70 and 80 million tonnes respectively. The seams are thin (less than 1.3 metres), laterally discontinuous and generally of poor quality. No anomalous base or precious metal values were identified in the basement.
