15 costeans were sunk into alluvial gravels lying to the north of Orama Hill, near old gold workings in a creek valley draining the area east of Baratta, to test these Recent sediments for possible mineable gold concentrations. The best assayed gold values recovered by sample washing, at 40 ppb Au, were sparely distributed in the basal gravels and, based on the estimated volume of auriferous material, would not support a viable mining operation at the prevailing gold price of US$310/oz.
