Exploration was undertaken for lode and alluvial tin mineralisation which might exist within ground adjacent to the abandoned Mount Mitchell tin mine, and also for reef gold in altered granite and dolerites outcropping adjacent to the numerous small scale workings of the Glenloth Goldfield. Mine dump sampling, costeaning, ground magnetometer surveying, RAB drilling (899 holes aggregating 2731 m) and diamond drilling (five holes aggregating 413 m) were undertaken, but failed to give encouragement for further work.
