Within the surrendered sections of the subject exploration licences in the Karoonda, Marmon Jabuk, Swan Reach, Blanchetown and Cooke Plains areas, following the conduct there of a 45.4 line km gravity survey and the drilling and geophysical logging of 24 exploratory rotary mud vertical open holes for a total penetration of 4478 m, the Tertiary sedimentary sequence is considered to hold little potential for finding economically recoverable deposits of brown coal. Thin seams only of brown coal (ranging from 1 m to 3.5 m in thickness) were disclosed at depths between 155 and 260 m.
