Two vertical rotary mud precollared diamond drillholes totalling 1085 m, which were drilled on coincident gravity/magnetic anomalies in the Lake Cootabarlow area as part of a search for Olympic Dam type mineralisation, intersected and sampled several flow sheets of altered acid volcanic rocks (porphyritic trachyte) lying below Mesozoic sediments, but no anomalous mineralisation or radioactivity was recognised.
