Drilling of 3 rotary mud holes totalling 392 m on gravity lows in the Mabel Creek area disclosed only thin seams of lignite at about 66 m depth. Because the holes were not geophysically logged, the coal seam thickness could not be ascertained. Assaying of drill cuttings sediment samples for gold and uranium gave negative results, and scintillometric logging of them likewise.
