Exploration for possible unconformity-related hydrothermal plus secondary sandstone-type uranium deposits, undertaken along the length of the southern Peake and Denison Ranges, has comprised fixed-wing and helicopter-borne aerial radiometric surveys with follow-up ground spectrometric traverses, plus geological inspection and sampling of anomalous localities. No pronounced radioactivity readings or significant uranium values were obtained from this work. The most anomalous result was found in a small area of thinly bedded and brecciated ?Adelaidean metasediments outcropping north-east of Douglas Well, where a trench cut into an arkosic sandstone yielded readings of 400 counts per second from a depth of 1 m.
