In a search for possible Proterozoic - Cainozoic unconformity - related, concealed sedimentary uranium deposits in an area of the Eucla Basin located 60 km north of Fowlers Bay, 42 rotary mud drillholes totalling 1432.4 m were put down on 5 traverses as part of a 27 traverse regional exploration programme, after first conducting a ground radiometric survey and soil geochemical sampling to confirm previous aerial survey anomalies. Although detailed stratigraphic, geochemical and radiometric information gained from the drilling has been reported, no technical interpretation has yet been provided, because the work is ongoing.
