Airborne magnetic/radiometric surveys and follow-up gravity surveys carried out in a search for possible Olympic Dam type orebodies have indicated depths to magnetic basement in excess of 1000 m in the Lake Hart area of the Stuart Shelf. The stratigraphy of the thick Neoproterozoic Pandurra Formation red beds unit which overlies crystalline basement in that region was studied with particular regard to mapping of facies considered prospective for sedimentary type uranium deposits; however, it appears to be oxidised throughout.
