Exploration for possible stratiform or hydrothermal, fault-associated copper deposits in the area of basal Adelaidean metasediments lying to the north of known such mineralisation at the abandoned historic Ukaparinga mine, immediately north of Williamstown, has consisted of detailed 1:18,000 scale geological mapping, orientation stream sediment sampling, orientation and prospect grid soil sampling, petrological studies of bedrock samples, and stratigraphic correlation of these units with Burra Group and Kanmantoo Group type section rocks described from elsewhere. Numerous small occurrences of secondary, sub-economic copper mineralisation were recorded, but nothing of interest was identified based on the related geochemical results.
