Notes: Reconnaissance geological mapping and stream sediment heavy mineral pan sampling was commenced in an area lying north-east of Mount Pleasant, to follow-up copper and tungsten anomalies reported from previous exploration work. Quite widespread detrital scheelite occurrences were encountered in the Marne River tributaries, with between 10 and 600 grains per pan concentrate sample. The discovery of scheelite-mineralised large boulders in the Marne Valley prompted a search for the outcropping host rock, but difficulties of obtaining entry onto private lands have meant that to date no source area has been identified. The historic Kanappa copper mine area was inspected, and representative rock samples were assayed.
