After the conduct of initial 1:100k scale geological mapping and rock chip grab sampling (21 samples), stream sediment sampling performed at 110 sites as part of a search for Telfer - style gold within rocks of the Umberatana Group was not encouraging. Base metal and arsenic values obtained from the separated magnetic concentrates of 77 samples were not deemed to be useful as pathfinders for gold mineralisation. Three gold anomalies were delineated, but follow-up site inspections and rock chip sampling confirmed known gold occurrences as their sources. No new gold occurrences were found.
