1:100k scale geological mapping and reconnaissance stream sediment geochemical sampling of Umberatana and Burra Group bedrock exposures (220 samples), performed in a search for Telfer style stratabound gold, revealed only three anomalous gold assay values. Two of these marginally anomalous gold values were not reproduced in re-sampling, and follow-up rock chip sampling (19 samples) around the other site did not result in any anomalous gold values. Subsequent assaying of 90 separated magnetic mineral concentrate samples did not reveal any useful pathfinders for gold.
