41 open-hole rotary drillholes (total 5999 metres) were drilled and geophysically logged to search for possible sedimentary uranium occurrences in the Early Cretaceous Parabarana Formation and in overlying altered Miocene sands, over an area of the Lake Callabonna Plains 20 to 30 km east of Mount Fitton. Although the target Tertiary palaeochannel was located, the channel sands were mostly reduced in chemical nature, and showed no uranium mineralization. An aeromagnetic anomaly located 6.5 km north-west of Moolawatana Homestead was subsequently investigated by a ground magnetic survey and 1 diamond drill hole. The latter was completed at 174 metres depth in pyrrhotite - bearing Wattleowie Granite.
