Exploration for Olympic Dam type mineralization in basement west of Lake Eyre sought to identify coincident magnetic/gravity anomalies. Work comprised an aeromagnetic survey and follow-up optically levelled gravity survey of three mapped magnetic anomalies, including a detailed ground magnetic survey over the prominent Bulls Eye anomaly: however, no significant associated gravity anomalies were found. Later, detailed field examination of an apparently significant gravity low in the northeastern part of the licence demonstrated that it was false, having been produced by incorrect readings.
