Over an area abutting the south-western shoreline of Lake Eyre North, detailed ground magnetic and gravity surveys were carried out over coincident regional gravity and magnetic highs in the search for Olympic Dam - type mineralisation. One rotary mud exploratory drillhole was put down to 421 m depth at a site just south of Douglas Creek, and was bottomhole diamond cored for a further 3 m into a ?pre-Adelaidean hornblende-feldspar hornfels that underlies Mesozoic sandstone. Assaying of downhole samples did not return any values of interest.
