Investigations of possible economic graphite mineralisation reported from an area of poorly outcropping basement 20 km NNW of Port Lincoln on Eyre Peninsula comprised an EM survey followed by geological mapping, costeaning and rock chip sampling. Variable concentrations of disseminated to semi-massive graphite were found as steeply dipping beds within moderately weathered biotite-garnet gneiss, over widths of 25-30 m, grading up to 11% total carbon in narrow zones, but no thick continuous layers of high grade flake graphite were disclosed.
