A geological reconnaissance and geochemical re-sampling were carried out in the Mooroowie mine area to follow up minor Cu-Zn mineralisation found in earlier regional sampling work done by Electrolytic Zinc Co. The target was large tonnage, low grade, disseminated copper ore associated with hydrothermally altered, silicified fault and joint zones within mega-breccia units of Cambrian limestones. Although a significant extent of occurrence of low grade copper carbonate mineralisation was confirmed, all assays were only of marginal interest, and the individual siliceous pods are small.
