Exploration for possible epithermal or hydrothermal primary uranium occurrences in an area located immediately north-east of Kimba has consisted of a geological reconnaissance for outcrops of Precambrian basement, and the location and sampling of water bores for any indications of dissolved uranium in groundwater. Water analyses from four bores failed to detect U3O8 above 5 ppb, while examination of the records of other past boring gave no reports of lignite occurring within the Cainozoic cover sequence.
