Exploration for diamonds, undertaken in an area centred 60 km east-northeast of Lyndhurst which had not been searched for this commodity previously, comprised the acquisition of aeromagnetic/radiometric and helimag surveys, and gravel and loam sampling of surface sediments above selected magnetic anomalies. No kimberlites were detected. Goethite veins near old gold workings at the Nevada prospect returned a maximum value of 14.5 g/t Au, but follow-up soil, rock chip and BLEG anomalies were not significant. Elevated stream sediment Cu values were followed up without success.
