Gold and base metal exploration carried out to the east and south-east of Streaky Bay comprised the acquisition during February 1994 of an airborne magnetic-radiometric survey flown at 300 m line spacing, and later on of regional and infill ground gravity surveys and of ground magnetic, TEM and IP surveys, plus RC drilling (28 holes, total 1969 m). A weak Au-Ni anomaly, with maximum values of 15 ppb and 7100 ppm respectively, was identified in weathered peridotite in the Wurkagie area. Other coincident gravity, magnetic and IP anomalies identified were attributed to magnetite and pyrite - bearing peridotite and gabbro, or to flanking carbonaceous Tertiary sediments.
