Exploration for stratiform/stratabound Broken Hill - type Pb-Zn mineralisation which may have formed in Palaeoproterozoic metasediments of the Mutooroo area, 70 km SW of Broken Hill, comprised stream sediment sampling, IP surveys, and aircore and RAB drilling (337 holes, total 7244 m). Infill drilling is warranted in a 150 m wide, poorly outcropping zone of anomalous palaeodrainage geochemistry in the eastern part of EL 1977, which returned maxima of 720 ppm Zn over a 4-metre interval from 47 m depth, and 460 ppm Pb over a 4-metre interval from 56 m depth, from a 50 metre-spaced RAB hole core drilling traverse.
