Exploration for Cloncurry and Broken Hill - style Cu-Au and Zn deposits, in the Plumbago - Bimbowrie - MacDonald Hill - Telechie Dam - Boolcoomata area, north-west of Olary, comprised ground magnetic surveys over anomalies evident from aeromagnetic data, plus stream sediment, rock chip and whole rock geochemistry. The magnetic sources were inferred from outcrop inspection and sampling to be mafic intrusives, ironstone in Adelaidean metasediments, and altered, brecciated calc-albitites, amphibolites and gneisses with minor calc-silicates and pelites/psammopelites. Anomalous Cu, Co and As was identified in vein quartz from Adelaidean rocks west of Poodla Dam.
