Exploration for base and precious metals within an area 40-60 km north-west of Penong, now relinquished from the EL, comprised 5 km of ground magnetic surveys and aircore drilling of 4 resulting magnetic features (13 holes, total 626 m). The drilling located rocks with sufficient magnetic susceptibility to adequately explain the target signatures, but no anomalous assays were recorded from analyses of cover and bedrock material. This work formed a progression from the SAEI Area A2 aeromagnetic surveying which was partly sponsored by Pasminco.
