Gold and base metal exploration undertaken in an area extending to the north and south-east of Meningie comprised image interpretation of SAEI aeromagnetic data, plus the conduct of ground magnetic surveys over and then test RC / diamond drilling of 6 selected magnetic anomalies (6 vertical holes, total penetration 625 m, including 168.1 m of NQ/BQ coring). No anomalous base or precious metal values were obtained by assaying of samples from cored metavolcanic and metasedimentary magnetic basement, and thus the perceived prospectivity of the licence was downgraded. The magnetic susceptibilities of the basement rocks which were cored adequately explained the observed magnetic signatures.
