Diamond exploration undertaken south of Abminga commenced with a review of MESA's SAEI aeromagnetic data, which delineated 5 promising magnetic targets. Helimag surveying and loam sampling of these anomalies were next performed, the latter to check for near-surface microdiamond or diamond indicator mineral occurrences, but this work was unsuccessful. RAB drilling on the helimag anomalies (8 holes, total 106 m) was then carried out to obtain 11 bedrock samples for mineralogical testing as before, again with negative results.
