Outcropping Wywyana Formation in the Mount McDonnell Valley, which had been shown by past work to be highly anomalous in copper, with attendant gold enrichment, was targetted by 50 m by 20 m grid-based geological, geochemical and ground geophysical sampling. However, none of the commonly effective methods used were successful at indicating the presence of known mineralisation, or at delineating further significant economic deposits. Therefore it is concluded that local copper mineral occurrences are restricted to small rich pods of secondary plus minor primary ore.
