Gold/copper exploration being undertaken north-west of Yunta has comprised rock chip geochemical sampling and BLEG stream sediment sampling. No significant gold anomalies were identified from the drainage bulk samples. High assay values of up to 8.8 ppm Au and 4.68% Cu were returned only from quartz veins and gossanous dump materials sampled at known workings, which were considered to have limited tonnage potential. No Telfer-type magnetic targets were identified by a review made of aeromagnetic survey data. On 18/9/1996, 63% of the original area of EL 1902 Waukaringa South and 54.5% of the original area of EL 1963 Euro Hill were jointly relinquished. [No work was done on EL 1901 Waukaringa during its final year, before tenure of that licence was allowed to lapse at expiry on 12/6/1996].
