A buried dipolar kimberlite target was detected west of Woomera by aeromagnetic and ground magnetic surveys. Sampling of surface gravels for diamond indicators and microdiamonds proved inconclusive. Aircore drilling (2 holes, total 143 m) identified dolerite as the source of the anomaly. No elevated trace metal values were recorded from either the post-Palaeozoic cover or the bedrock strata penetrated.
